Like what I promised those signifying interests about jobs – blogging or otherwise - in the networks where I currently blog…here are some more:

Check the links you might be what they are looking for. Boy, how I wished I majored in something else, like err, web development? He he. :-D

Good Luck!

Motorola RAZR V3 Black Phone (Unlocked)For almost 2 months now I have been working at home with just my Motorola RAZR V3x as a modem to access the internet. The connection I am getting at 2.5G isn’t perfect: it says 230.4 kbps but in reality I think it is even less than half of that. :-(

But if that’s what I have right now for an internet connection that allows me to work at home, pinagtatiyagaan ko na. Looking back on what I had to go through in the past year just to get online…I will not trade this for a broadband in town. At least for now…he he! ;-)

Satellite broadband is still to die for though and I am still in search of that (more story on this later).

Let me first apologize to my Moto…it isn’t my first choice of a 3G phone. I’ve always been loyal to Nokia phones and the only reasons i opted for the moto are 1) it was the cheapest 3G phone I can get around here (in a couple of stores selling original cellphone units), more than a couple thousand pesos cheaper than the highly recommended Nokia 6233 and mostly because 2) it also comes in pumpkin orange color (which i eventually didn’t get because the store turned out to have only boring black in stock!). :-P
So I underestimated it…but it delivered more than I needed it for and I am grateful.

Brand NEW Nokia E61i Unlocked Quad Band GSM World PDA SmartPhoneHopefully one day, broadband internet will grace our remote-but-not-getting-so-remote home location. That, and my ultimate Nokia phone: the Nokia E61i (The SmartPDA has a review).

Once I get my hands on broadband internet, i will have no need to upgrade on a cellphone for a long time.

Then maybe I can finally save up on a nice PC notebook! ;-)

[The list never seem to end, maybe I shouldn’t have started blogging at all! And I used to be too happy with my good old Nokia 3315. He he. ;-)]

Peace and quiet in this blog doesn’t necessarily reflect the status of my offline life. My mother got sick and my multi-tasking ability is being put to the test. Though I am getting by, I am not passing the test with flying colors.

25-05-07_1356.jpgNeedless to say, it is difficult when you have a 4-year-old that can get into your already freaked-out nerves (don’t be deceived by the cuteness in that photo!), notwithstanding the fact that (aside from my mother) I am the only responsible adult in this house.

Nope, two 19-year-olds do not count…Raine can sometimes be more mature than them.

Checking my dashboard, aside from spam comments to moderate (makes me wonder if I have more than 5 loyal readers here…he he!), I have been tagged by two bloggers I know and already met (Jun and Rico).

I’ll start with Jun’s first, as Rico’s tag needs deeper thinking (though I am not yet sure if I’d find anything that would still make me say that it’s great to be pinoy, ha ha!!).

Anyway, as Jun wants to know (i hope you do too!)…here are 6 weird things about me:

(at least I think they’re weird, if my old friends are reading this: I dare you to tell me if I missed anything.) ;-)

  1. I don’t eat beef, because i can’t take the (maanggo) smell and I think i may be slightly allergic to it (i had strong allergic reaction to it once and i dare not let it happen again). BUT…i can eat canned corned beef on occasions, however these two pinoy brands only: Purefoods and CDO. Imported brands are out, they’re too smelly. :-P
  2. I can’t wink. I don’t know why but I just can’t. ;-)
  3. I have cold feet, always. Literal not figurative. That’s why I always sleep with even a light blanket from the waist down even on hot summer nights. :-D
  4. I find cheese-flavored tortillos perfect with coffee. Basta, masarap eh! (and I can finish one large pack in one sitting, he he.) Weird ba ito o katakawan lang? :-P
  5. I cry at movies (and in front of the TV!) since I was a little girl and I still do now. :-(
  6. I am right-handed but I carry everything (as in anything that needs carrying: hand bags, grocery bags, baby, etc) with my left arm. I’ve been doing this as far as I can remember. But I cannot write (or even eat) with my left, so I cannot be ambidextrous.

There you go!. Would you tell me yours?

(If you have a blog, write your 6-weird-things-about-me and link it to this post, or if you don’t have a blog, you can itemize yours in a comment below).

How about that? I don’t wanna be a party-pooper and break this meme.

Thanks Jun, I had fun thinking about those 6 things.

Welll…most of the time anyway.
Unless:

  • electric power is interrupted (happening a lot lately…grrr…that generator in an old wish-list has resurfaced my conciousness)
  • Raine is in his mega “me-me-attend-to-me moments” (grrrr…as well…enough said…hayy)
  • SMART’s signal/reception is awful (better reception in late afternoon and at night, cooler times of the day too…so i decided that’s the best time to work)

I’m not even going to complain about how much I paid SMART recently, because it topped the fact that I can get online even without bothering to brush my teeth (or combing my hair for that matter). That’s a methapor of course, but i know anybody who works at home will get it. ;-)

The only downside is that, there are many “distractions” at home: neighbors stoppping by to chat or something, teen brothers not helping with house chores and picking on Raine instead…and the fact that there is no “locked room” yet to be called an “office” doesn’t help much.

But i do love the fact that I can oversleep with Raine and have cartoon marathons in the morning, give Raine a bath (which my mother used to do when i was still going to town to get online) and make his milk (which he by the way drinks from the glass now, finally!) and just goof around the house and hang-out (and quarrel!) with Raine and my mother.

That and having all the black coffee i want anytime of the day. And because I’m wide awake until midnight, I can have the TV all by myself. he he.

Hmmm….the coffee, the food and the knick-knacks in between and all that carbo with no exercise…I’m taking it back…i HATE working at home. :-(

‘Been tinkering with my cellphone and found out it can record videos too. (bano ano?!…i just use to call, text, surf and sometimes take photos…so pardon me.)

Here’s Raine singing his version of Pinoy Ako (Pinoy Big Brother theme song by Orange and Lemons).

Well, sort of…portion of the song anyway. He he.

P.S. This is the Nth time I’ve tried to embed a YouTube video in an entry in this blog…with no luck. It supposed to be easy, just copy the embed HTML from YouTube and paste it to the wordpress editor. Still, the embedded image doesn’t come out right…so you have to make do with clicking that link to watch Raine’s video.

The past couple couple of days, I was sick and felt heavy (stuffed nose, painful coughs) and so spent most of the time in bed. I do rarely get sick (at least once a year!) and I’ve always believed that I am healthy as a horse. But I guess age is creeping up on me, I normally wouldn’t succumb to bed rest with just cough and cold…but this time I actually did.

Anyway, at least if not sleeping I get to watch all the TV shows I want. (I shoo’d Raine to his Lola and Titos because he got scared that he might get the virus from me.) ;-)

But there was one time he really coudn’t get away from my side of the bed as I was watching TV…

Raine: Mommy, ano pinapanood mo?

Me: Discovery Travel and Living.

Raine: Living?! Libing! Ano, merong patay? Ipa-pa-dapit na?

Libing is Filipino of Burial. Patay is Filipino of dead. Dapit is bicol of Burial.

He he he.

As for me, 2 days is enough bed rest…it’s back to work…more work. ;-)

If there’s one thing that Raine and I would agree on doing together in front of the computer…that would be browsing at his baby pictures.

And we’ve been doing that a lot lately, because Raine is mostly bugging me of what he was like as a baby, where we lived, who we were with, etc. Pictures help him relate to those people close to us but who isn’t with us these days, like his Lolo (who passed away) and of course the friends we left in LB.

Also, because I see Raine everyday, I often do not notice if he is really growing or if his looks have changed. Looking at old photos, I can see the difference and what similarities there are left.

Here are a few we’d like to share with you…

people and places& blogging and problogging03 May 2007 08:53 am

Maybe unknown to my blogging friends, but I do visit and read blogs about celebrities on a regular basis. I’ve always wondered why celebrities blogs are high traffic generators…and yet here I am contributing to that statistics.

Before, I thought only Filipinos take time to watch and read about celebrity news and gossips. When I discovered the blogosphere, Filipinos are not the only ones crazy about being updated with both the public and private lives of their local celebrities and of course hollywood celebrities.

It just goes to show that majority of the world’s population are “nosy” in this kind of way and love knowing about other people’s lives.

Besides, covering the lives of celebrities is one whole lot of a BIG money-making industry, anywhere in the world. ;-)
OK, so I do read blogs on celebrities. However, I don’t read that many. Only a few i deemed enough for my taste:

Now, trust B5media to come up with a niche niche blog, their celebrities channel has a newest addition: Hunky Blog, which about completes my celebrities blog foddder.

I rarely go on real vacations so that when I do it becomes an unforgettable experience: i want it to last forever and later find myself having a hard time going to my normal routine.

Since Friday, I stayed away from my computer and really went on vacation: Raine and I went with my friends to Rizal beach on their first day and then to Donsol afterwards.

Yesterday, I still could barely blog: All I did was sleep, download the photos, bugged Abby for the photos she took, looked at them and wished that my friends didn’t have to go, wished that we all didn’t have to go back to work and to our normal routines… so we could talk some more, pig out some more and go places some more.

beach-babes.jpg

The beach, the sea (not to mention my oldest best friends in the whole world!) does that to me, I become lethargic afterwards.

In fact until this morning I am still low-bat than usual.

In my attempt to shake the mode that the past weekend induced on me, I blogged about it at Pinoy Travel Blog.

My friend Abby took most of the photos, I too have a few which can be found here.

Pagkatapos nito, sana back to normal blogging na ako, apat na problogs ang naghihintay…He he!

Two of my (oldest) best friends came over last Friday…the three of us together rarely happens and so we celebrated by going to Rizal Beach and butanding-island (Donsol).

Yep. We sighted 12 gentle giants in a span of 2 hours. I’m still too tired and sleepy right now, but I’ll sure tell you all about it.

Meanwhile, here are some photos from the past couple of days that I really love:
