The Power of The Internet - Use it Well
I can attest to the power of the internet. But we all should it well. If used well, the internet can actually make our lives better.
Aside from blogging, earning money online, i love the internet because (most of all) I can do online banking. You wouldn’t want to go personally to the bank (to deposit funds to somebody or pay your bills) in my part of the world where queues are toxic.
That been said, online banking to me is heaven.
Except from the fact that some people can do their jobs remotely from their homes, in due time travel agents/offices will turn extinct as anyone internet savvy can book and pay online for e-tickets from mostly all airlines’ websites. Not to mention that holiday packages can be booked (and paid) online as well.
You can shop for about anything online too. And if you have a U.S. (Canada or Europe) address, shipping and delivery isn’t as delayed as shipping to a Philippine address.
We should not forget the joys of contacting or talking to a friend or loved one across the globe via email and chat rooms. These, I think prevents the breaking up of OFW families. Imagine in the old days when international letters doesn’t arrive earlier than two weeks? At least these days, families can be updated with each others’ lives real-time.
And then, if you are a gamer, you need not even go to Vegas or Macau. You just have to find a reliable online casino of your choice. How cool is that?
In some countries, you can even vote online or maybe pay your taxes online.
What else can you do over the internet that I have missed to mention?
All in all, the internet is so powerful as long as (I think) you use it responsibly well.
