Today is officially Raine’s last day of formal school this year. Tomorrow will all be merry making: Christmas parties and stuff. He doesn’t even have to wear a uniform tomorrow. Just one of his casual clothes.

While this blog don’t get updated in the next three weeks (classes resume January 11, 2010), that means we are having fun having a quiet holidays in the barrio.

So if I don’t get to greet you, I’ll do it already: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. All my best wishes through the coming new year.

Two of Raine’s lower front teeth were extracted minutes ago. Raine still has the perfect milk teeth, except that one of his permanent tooth finally decided to come out of the lower part. Hence, the necessary extraction.

I still remember. Raine’s two lower front teeth only came out a few days before his 1st birthday. A little too late I was told. Now, 13 days before his 7th birthday they were taken off. We decided to bring the teeth with us. There are some superstitious ritual that my mother has to do with it. I’m indulging her this time. ;)

Going back to the extraction…Raine was soo brave. The dentist too impersonal! Well it is not his teeth  going down the sinks.

Since August, I have using Smart Bro. I have no complaints so far except that they keep changing my IP address. Notice that Live Traffic Feed I have on the side bar? If you see Sorsogon, Philippines in there that used to be me. Used to, take note.

Then it became Legaspi, Philippines.

Now it’s Tabaco, Albay, Philippines.

To the blogs I’m visiting and you have a traffic feed, I still do visit. But I don’t register as Sorsogon, Philippines anymore. IP addresses can be tricky, specially if they keep changing. But good thing that doesn’t happen to your Personalized Jewelry. Just imagine if it does. ;)

That family day?

It turned out to be the most boring thing I’ve ever been into. :( Hayy.

(Inggit lang siguro ako sa may mga dalang asawa?!)

Hindi rin.

Boring talaga. By 11 am, I decided to go home. And so we did. Raine and I slept that Saturday afternoon off. A lot better, imho.

In March, I got myself a licensed AVG 8.5. Now it has been upgraded for free to the 9.0 version. I chose it mainly because I’m comfortable with it. I had been using the AVG free version for years.

In choosing an antivirus software, here are a few pointers you might wanna consider:

  • Does not slow down your PC
  • All-new technology: antivirus + antispyware engine
  • Advanced anti-rootkit technology
  • Cutting-edge Proactive Protection
  • Full protection against email-borne threats
  • Ideal for Netbooks that need malware protection (if you are using a netbook)
  • Real time protection against viruses, spywares and malicious websites.
  • No automatic credit card charge each year!

So what antivirus software are you using (or plan to use)? So far I have no complaints with mine. ;)

I got up at 430 am to cook Raine’s baon for the recollection. At 630 am, Raine was all set to go. I fully instructed my cousin (who took Raine to school) not to leave unless the service leaves. Only to find out that the recollection was postponed! It was already late afternoon when they announced it — most of the students were gone. The reason? No priest was available! Hayyy…what ineffiency. If this keeps on going, I’m gonna need wrinkle creams. :(

WANTED: slimming pills!!!

Now I know, the moment I lose weight, I’m most probably sick. People I’ve recently befriended (mostly moms in Raine’s school) are telling me that mas bagay daw sakin mataba. Then I tell them, natural ko ang mataba! He he.

Two weeks ago I said I’m gonna cut back on rice. So I did. But my bread and pastries consumption doubled. Gosh. Don’t forget the occasional cakes and other sweets like halo-halo, ice cream and stuff. Ha ha ha!

Then I said I’ll do bending daily. Well I can’t do sit-ups, so bending it was. Still I can’t fit into my pants/shorts. Should I buy new ones? NOPE! There’s still time to vindicate myself. Or just hold my breath while tucking my mid-section in. ;) Ha ha ha!

Tomorrow, Raine’s class will have a recollection outside of school. It is a whole day affair of prayer and some quiet time (definitely no MP3 players!) . I’m just worried that Raine won’t be able to sit still. He he. He’ll probably be bored to death and won’t be able to shut up for one whole day.

But then he’ll probably listen to his teachers and recollection master and will be so behaved. ;)

We’ll see..

The good: The Proposal

Starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I had a blast watching this movie. It is the ultimate feel-good romantic comedy movie of the year. Besides, it tackled the most abused visa in the United States — the fiancee’s visa.

The bad: The Ugly Truth

Starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. This is probably the most boring movie of all time. I was falling asleep 10 minutes into it. Hmmm…make that 5. The only good thing I can probably say is that the very rugged Gerard Butler is something you would want to house in myrtle beach condos. ;) He he he.

Raine’s last day of formal class falls on the 17th. The 18th is reserved for merry-making (read: Christmas party). Then I was told today that classes resume on 11th January 2010.

Wow. 3 long weeks of real vacation. I can’t wait!

I just wish I can whisk Raine away to some st thomas vacation packages. But staying at home would be swell too. He he.

This coming Saturday is family day at Raine’s school. It is a day of fun, games, food. Moms in Raine’s class decided to form groups and each group is tasked to prepare one dish. Food will be mostly for adults as we’re told to bring packed lunch for each kid. Bring your own rice too.

The late afternoon, till 7 pm is reserved for bingo socials.

Too bad I ran out of digital cameras. So it’ll be just my good old camera phone. ;)

Raine made it in one piece. (There’s no need for an instant life insurance quote after all.)

It was a good decision letting him go. He was sooo happy when he got back last night and the stories were never-ending.

The moms earlier were conferring about how the tour went. Mostly asking those that let their kids join. Now they are regretting that they didn’t allow their kids to go. ;)

It was a good decision letting Raine go. He needs some independence after all.
