The good: The Proposal

Starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I had a blast watching this movie. It is the ultimate feel-good romantic comedy movie of the year. Besides, it tackled the most abused visa in the United States — the fiancee’s visa.

The bad: The Ugly Truth

Starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. This is probably the most boring movie of all time. I was falling asleep 10 minutes into it. Hmmm…make that 5. The only good thing I can probably say is that the very rugged Gerard Butler is something you would want to house in myrtle beach condos. ;) He he he.

Dirty Dancing (1987)A few months ago, I bought a DVD of Dirty Dancing. I’ve been replaying it over and over again since then. Especially that final dance number at the end of the movie.

I will always remember Patrick Swayze as the hot, mesmerizing dancer and a guy so straight he only ever married one woman. A fact that is too rare in hollywood.

Anyways…when he is dancing, all jaws just drop and you fix your eyes and your heart to that very moment. You don’t want the dance to stop.

Keep dancing Patrick Swayze, wherever you will be. Rest in peace!

Barrio Siete's Tie-A-Yellow-Ribbon For CoryThis whole week..Barrio Siete has a tribute to President Cory.

All blog entries are about Cory.

Cory is the humblest personality I’ve ever seen in politics. She’s got crendentials under her belt but she sticked to the ‘plain housewife who became president’ label.

She is a daughter of rich parents who was sent to the US for high school and college studies as a result of her cry for personal independence.

She has a major in French and a minor in Math. She wanted to be an interpreter and a Math teacher. Then she came home to the Philippines to study law at FEU. She didn’t finish law of course, she fell in love and married Ninoy.

Since then she became a wife and a mother. She did it all with flying colors.  I guess she is one proud, accomplished mom until her daughter Kris entered showbiz and got involved with one controversy after another. What a shame to the family right?!

[Kris should have at least considered her family name before getting into her messy showbiz lovelife and improving her physical appearance (liposuction, cosmetic surgery, noxycut, etc.) the showbiz way!]

Well anybody deserves a second chance right? Don’t mess-up yours Kris.

Cory is a wonderful woman that the whole world admired. Sana man lang itong Kris na laging nasa limelight eh magtino na ng todo-todo!

R.I.P. Cory. You are missed.

Kris Aquino is bratty, selfish…tactless and eventhough I watch The Buzz and SNN…i just don’t like her, i make fun of her antics instead.

But since Cory’s last days at the hospital to this day…Kris has shown grace under pressure. She is actually likeable these days. I hope it lasts. ;)

(In the process she won’t need Marie France nor a phenphedrine review. She just needs somebody to surgically remove her eyebags! ;) He he he.)

Enough of the Michael Jackson overload…he he he.

The world didn’t notice that Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince already premiered in London. The stars are all so grown-up on the red carpet. (Emma Watson was even showing some cleavage! Sinabayan si JK Rowling. Hehe. )

Though the stars of HP got soaked in London during the red carpet entrance…they all charmed everyone.

Bad trip talaga ang last-song-syndrome. The last song you heard will keep on playing inside your head. That happens wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

The last song having such an effect on me?

Man in the mirror by Michael Jackson!

Still I can’t believe that the King oF Pop - Michael Jackson - is dead. How I wish this is just a dream we can wake up to. But it’s not.

Today I’e been digging YouTube for videos of Michael Jackson. Here’s a clip from his 30th Anniversary Concert in 2001, featuring performanes of ‘The Way You Make Me Feel” (solo)  and “Black or White” (with Slash).

In my heart, there’s always going to be Billie Jean associated with MJ. Now, at least he would not need Mesothelioma lawyers ever.

Rest in peace, MJ.

Well…I was a teener in the 80s. Michael Jackson was an icon in those times.

Who didn’t cry watching his Heal the World TV special? I was on a puddle!

Michael Jackson -- dead at age 50

Earlier today, Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest.

Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the “King of Pop” and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday.

He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.

So long Michael Jackson! I hope the newer generation doesn’t forget what you have accomplished as an artist. (He is not a bathroom faucet
fixer!)

Barrio siete has a similar report.

P.S. I am currently at an internet shop in Sorsogon City…and the local radio station is playing all of Michael Jackson’s songs.

Like everyone have speculated during the American Idol season –Adam Lambert is gay– Adam has admitted that fact himself as he graces the cover of Rolling Stone.

There. Let that admission stop the rumor mill.

He’s one talented guy and he shines in his craft. I hope people concentrate on that, and not on his gayness.

Don’t throw your Adam Lambert admiration down the kitchen sinks. ;-)

Way to go Adam Lambert!

For the Nth time this year, I have re-read the books 6 and 7 of Harry Potter. Everyone knows that this coming July the 6th installment of the movie is coming out in theaters. Raine and I are excited. (The twins too!) We are hoping to catch it in Legaspi City like we did the 5th movie (Order of The Phoenix).

But since one of the twins is now working in Manila, he’ll most probably be the first to catch the movie there and gloat about it. ;) Inggitin daw ba kami?

Anyway…I will be in Manila this weekend for a get-together with college friends. I hope there will be time to squeeze-in one movie. I still can’t decide between X-men Origins: Wolverine and Terminator Salvation. Oh well, I’d probably be talking the weekend away with friends. I just hope I’ll have time to sneak out into the movies. I haven’t been to one in ages! ;)

Well, I am torn between David Cook and Michael Johns. Oh my, tough choice.

Michael Johns has maturity that shows in his singing style as opposed to the playful ‘cockiness’ of David Cook (simply because he is a bit younger in age and is single). But man, they’re both hot. Sizzling. :-P

[I bet Paula Abdul can’t decide on which to take home! Ha ha ha.]

Obvious ba? Yeah, I do watch American Idol being shown at Star World. Susme, ano naman katapat sa ABS? Wheel of Fortune ni Kris at TV Patrol! Hmp. ;-)

Sorry…but Ramielle Malubay’s performance is deteriorating. Carly Smithson is waAAAay too cool! ;-)

bakit-ikaw-pa-rin.jpgGrabe. Gabby Concepcion is back in Philippine Show Business.

Ok…he looks older (sana maturer din!) and bulkier, but I guess…more handsome than ever? ;-)

It’s not the looks though that draws me to Gabby. It ’s that voice. And those lips! Ha ha ha.

(Hala! Wag kayong magagalit…he he he!)

From tonight’s news, he said that that his first two days here is very emotional. Mixed emotions! What with his daughters - left and right - sprouting like mushrooms?! Susme.
I wonder how he feels watching TV here, with Sharon in all the product commercials. He he.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! It is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand’ring bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
(Sonnet 116)

These has been immortalized so many times. In theaters, in the movies, even on TV.

beauty_and_the_beast.jpgHowever, before there was the movie Shakespeare In Love, there was the TV series called Beauty and The Beast. No, not the one from Disney! Remember? The one that starred Linda Hamilton and Ron Pearlman?

Anyways, I once bought a cassette tape that includes collection of song and poems from this TV series.

BUT, I do not really know where that tape is now. He he. All I remember is that, Ron Pearlman’s voice is something one cannot easily forget.

Ha ha ha. I know what you - my old friend(s) - is(are) going to say : “Hindi ka pa rin nagbabago, Glo!”

Yeah, that’s me. Some things just never change. ;-)

We left Bohol early morning yesterday. Too early in fact. I got up at 4:30 am and soon after I woke Raine up. 5:15 am, we left BBC.

We arrived at the Tagbilaran airport at barely 6 am. Raine was in his pajamas. He he.

We were already here (LB friend’s house) by lunch time yesterday. This morning I am still wasted. I even didn’t wake up when the alarm went of. My legs are still painful. The muscles I mean and not my knees as I was expecting.

This afternoon is just the first of the many visits I planned to do. ;-)
